I use they/he pronouns and am a minor. I didn’t really want to put that on her but I’ve gotten two creepy asks so now I kinda feel like I need to.

I’ve got something in the head, maybe autism, probably adhd but who really knows.

this blog doesn’t really have a theme, but I reblog some tic posts seeing as how I have them. I’ll reblog art that I really like, sometimes some political posts, and just stuff that interests me.

My old pinned post was a post I had made calling for links for free gender affirming care. The master list (added by the lovely @the-maddened-hatter ) ended up having to be broken into two and was slightly less effective. • A medical diagnosis
• Used for decades to make queerness into a mental illness
• Used as a slur for the latter half of the 20th century
• Rejected by the queer community as an acceptable term for a brief period of time in the early 2000s before coming back into fashion.
• Only describes the experience of cis gay men and cis lesbians

Think what you want, believe what you will, but every word we have ever used to describe ourselves is coated in blood.

I actually talked to an older queer guy who said he was amazed to see how many young people call themselves gay. When he hears it, he just hears a slur…but he also said he was glad that people are able to reclaim it, and he’s happy to see a generation of lgbt+ people comfortable with it.

this is so so important to me and mine, and I’m asking you to Do Something so I’ll respect your time and keep it brief

in the UK, if 100k sign a a government petition it will be brought to Parliament and debated. y'all know this country is suffering from some 80s-style bigotry right now, and this is one symptom: almost 200k fuckholes have come together to force the government to discuss whether it is ‘appropriate’ to tell children that queer people exist. this is a big symbolic victory for them. and i am burning with fury.

please, if you’re from the UK, sign this counter-petition so they can at least see how much of a minority they are. simply put, the attempt to put these bastards in their place isn’t gathering enough steam. there are barely 2000 more signatures now than there were this morning (27th January 2023), and that isn’t enough. i refuse to let these people feel even a moment of victory or satisfaction. please help.

A couple of people have pointed out that JK Rowling is saying support of her work is support for her bigotry, hence why we must denounce HP as a whole; but that felt wrong to me, and I’ve thinking about and I think I know why: we’re letting her set the parameters of the discussion, letting her decide what her work means, and I don’t agree with that; if I want to interpret Hermione Granger as a gay trans boy and Ron Weasley as bi and agender, I can, fuck you.

And it’s kinda worse because as verilybitchie pointed out, Harry Potter is not the exclusive creation of JK Rowling, HP is what is is today because the fans. We made the fanfictions and the fanarts, we made the fan films and the musicals and the Etsy merch, we made the Quidditch and the online Encyclopedia that JK admitted to use, we made the cosplays and the fan clubs and made our parents read the books.

We made this little book a phenomena with all the free publicity of our fandom, so Rowling can’t come around and be like “this is mine, you can’t use it unless I okay it”; no we made this, and if we want to use it against your bigotry, we can do it; you don’t set the rules anymore, fuck you
